So here it is. Full disclosure. There was a time when I was too heady and logical and there was no space for mystery and wonder. When tarot and chakras and other subtler and unseen systems were introduced to me, I sort of labeled them woo-woo and did not want anything to do with them.
Can you relate?
The thing about tarot is this. It's woo-woo until it's not. And, quite frankly, I am eternally grateful for meeting the right people on my journey to have come to this place of exploration and contemplation. I first met Vicky Vox like this. A friend said, "hey, I have a friend and she does tarot and then some....and I would really love for you two to meet." I said ok, because I trust my friends.
I am a gay person who has lived under the rock for the last twenty years. I have not even watched a full episode of RuPaul's drag race. Yes friends, that is not a lie. Really, I do not own a television. Nor, have or had the interest as I was busy contemplating life and trying to understand the nature of my mind. These practices of yoga and meditation for most of my thirties became my main object of concentration. All this to say our paths just had not crossed. I had not the great joy and pleasure of meeting or knowing THE Vicky Vox. Until that one day when she walked in to a Queer Joy session and she sat on one of the day beds and it felt like we had known each other our whole lives.
A homecoming, really.
Fast forward to multiple occasions where Vicky held space at Pür Joy and to our first session of Tarot, Reiki and Whatever. It was on August 17th when tarot actually and finally made sense. To me. The former skeptic. The one who slowly let the doubtful mind dissolve and to give more power to the intuitive heart and gut. Yes, it was right timing. Divine, they say.
On that evening there was this general sentiment of this is exactly where we all ought to be and it felt so right.
In this unique and inclusive session, Vicky brought her expertise and guided us through a magical fusion of Tarot reading, Reiki healing, and so much more. The great thing is we are just getting started.
